Gall leaves for full-time Director of Coaching position with FC Dallas

It is with great sadness that we share today that John Gall, our head coach since 2001, has been offered and accepted a full time position with the professional club FC Dallas, ending his time in charge of the Marauders.  We wish him all the best!

Gall, compiling a record of 276-71-42 (including a 41-13 UIL playoff record) in his fifteen years at the helm, guided the Marauders to a National Championship in 2007 and Back-to-Back State Titles in 2007 and 2008.  Sam Garza (2008) and Zach Barnes (2010) we named Gatorade State Player’s of the Year under his tutelage.

“This is a very bitter-sweet time for me.  I love this program and letting go is very painful but, like I have always said to my player’s, when an opportunity presents itself, go get it”, stated Gall on his offer from FC Dallas.

Gall led the Marauders to 15 straight years in the playoffs, that has grown their consecutive streak to an incredible 25 years in a row.

“Marcus FC has been a massive part of my family’s life.  I am proud of what this program has accomplished and am I proud of the position that the program is in as I am leaving.  This place has always been full of awesome people and this place will continue to be successful because of all the awesome people still in it”, added Gall.

A search for a new head coach will begin immediately with Gall helping with a smooth transition.

“I only will ever want the best for this program and these kids.  There are so many, many players that gave everything they had to help build this program into a special place and I will never forget them”, Gall concluded.
