MMFC Welcomes Sam Garza as new Head Boys Soccer Coach

Marcus High School is proud to announce that Coach Sam Garza has been named our new Head Boys Soccer Coach.

Garza is a former Marcus High School standout as a student athlete, leading the MMFC in 2007 to a State Title, National Championship, and a perfect 30-0-0 record. In 2008, as Captain, Sam Garza led the Marauders to their second State Championship in a row and was selected as Gatorade State Player of the Year, along with All-America and UIL All-Century team accolades.

After graduating from MHS, Garza played on the U20 Mens National Team and was later drafted out of U.C. Santa Barbara in 2012 with the 6th pick in the first round of the MLS Superdraft by the San Jose Earthquakes. Garza played professional soccer for several years, most recently in 2016 with the Arizona United SC.

In 2017, Coach Garza served as Interim Head Boys Soccer Coach at MHS, taking the MMFC to the playoffs. The past two seasons he has served as an assistant coach for our boys soccer program, and now takes the helm as Head Coach.

Coach Garza has been a point of pride for Marcus High School for many years. He is the ultimate example of “Once a Marauder, Always a Marauder!” The 2019-2020 MMFC season begins in the second week of December in a highly competitive District 6-6A. Please come out and support Coach Garza and our team in what promises to be an exciting season!
