Coach Chad Rakestraw grew up in Grapevine, TX and graduated HS from Denton Ryan HS. After high school I attended Midwestern State University on a soccer scholarship where I received All conference honors and served as a captain. I started my coaching career as an assistant at Denton Guyer HS for 3 years and then received my first opportunity to be a head coach at Northwest HS where he helped lead them to their first and only 6A playoff appearance.
In 2011, I was given the opportunity to lead the Coppell HS Soccer program. In 6 years, we won 5 district championships, played in 3 state championships, winning 2 in 2013 and 2016. While at Coppell, we helped to send off over 25 players in 6 years to play at the next level including schools like University of New Mexico and SMU. I have been married to my wife Shelley Rakestraw for 11 years, we have 4 little girls Madison (8), Kamryn (6), and our twins Brooklyn and Katelyn (3).
